Three-Mode Stud, Metal and Live Wire Detector with Backlit Display

A hand-held scanner that tells you what is behind a wall before the drill goes in. Three modes cover the usual questions:

• Stud: finds the edge of timber or metal framing to 1.5 inches (38 mm)
• Metal: picks up iron, copper and aluminum pipe to 3 inches (76 mm)
• Live wire: locates AC cable to 3 inches (76 mm)

The backlit LCD stays readable in a dark corner and the unit beeps as well, so you can mark the spot without looking away from the wall. It calibrates itself at switch-on and powers down on its own when left idle. Runs on a single 9V battery.
